Why Do You Need Mastercam Certification at Your School?
Mastercam Certification will bring more students to your program. It can be used as an online training course giving students the flexibility and skills necessary to pass the Certification exam. Mastercam Certification will give your students an unfair advantage in today's job market. It can be worked into a dual credit program and Mastercam instructor Certification classes are now available online.
In order to certify your students, you must become a Certified Mastercam instructor. This means you have passed rigorous tests showing the depth and breadth of knowledge and experience required to qualify students. It sets a standard for schools, makes students more employable, and helps ensure a well-educated, professional manufacturing industry for the future.
Requirements for Mastercam Certified Instructors
- 120 hours teaching Mastercam
- 2 years teaching full time or equivalent
- Be employed on a full-time basis in a program that uses Mastercam.
- Mastercam is the main CAD/CAM software in the machining program for one year.
- Integrate Mastercam Certification curriculum into your program. Mastercam approved Certifcation curricula are key to certification, providing a comprehensive, consistent, nationwide baseline to all participating schools.
- 3 letters of recommendation from employers of past students or advisory committee members in machining trade. The letters should be on company or school letterhead explaining how your students are employable and describe your skills as an instructor.
- Attend a Mastercam Instructor certification class.
- Program and cut the practical test part.
Instructors can only be certified by the Educational Division of CNC Software. All certified instructors can issue a Certificate of Completion.
Minimum Program Requirements
- Certified Instructor employed on a full-time basis.
- Two advisory meetings per year.
- Advisory committee approval of shop environment and instructor
- CNC machine capable of running a .25 end mill .125 deep at a feedrate of 25ipm at 3000 RPM in 6061 T6.
- Number of seats of Mastercam equivalent to students taking class.
- Computer system requirements:
- 1.5 GHz Intel processor
- Windows XP or Windows 2000 with latest service packs and updates
- .NET 1.1 framework and DirectX version 9.0c
- 512 MB RAM memory
- 1 GB available hard disk space
- 64 MB OpenGL-compatible graphics card minimum
- 1024 x 768 minimum resolution; Windows compatible mouse
